Monster Island, an animated mockbuster released by The Asylum around the same date as Godzilla King of the Monsters in 2019, is about an isolated island where a monster lives. In a sense, the monster is Monster Island itself.


The movie is about an asylum. Because it's a movie, it doesn't have the same budget and uses it sparingly. It is focused on a few characters, and all (Monster Island by Decker Shado) the big names are on one set. This allows them to film their scenes during lunch breaks. We must not forget that this movie is a kaiju movie and that's the way they go. So maybe The Asylum won’t be so bad?
